Swedish Dishcloth FAQ's
What is a Swedish dishcloth?
A Swedish dishcloth is a reusable cleaning cloth made from cotton and wood cellulose. It combines the absorbency of a sponge with the durability of a dishcloth and is designed to replace disposable paper towels.
How long do Swedish dishcloths last?
With proper care, Swedish dishcloths typically last 7–12 months. Their lifespan depends on how frequently they are used and how well they are cleaned and dried between uses.
Can Swedish dishcloths go in the dishwasher and washing machine?
Yes, and yes! Swedish dishcloths can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher, making them easy to clean and reuse. Or they can be cleaned in the washing machine on a normal cycle. Allow them to air dry afterward.
Are Swedish dishcloths compostable?
Yes. Nature Bee Swedish Dishcloths are made from 100% natural materials (cotton and wood cellulose) and can be composted at the end of their life. Similarly, Nature Bee Cellulose Sponges are 100% natural and compostable.
Why does my Swedish dishcloth feel stiff when dry?
Swedish dishcloths naturally become stiff when dry because they are made from plant-based cellulose fibres. Once you add water, the cloth quickly becomes soft and flexible again.
