Even though we are a growing company in our early stages, we have always made an effort to share our success with the community. We have been so supported by our community members but and we knew we had to share our success with others. We think that being able to make the world a better place through any sized action is impactful. We are so thankful for the ability to help and support others, and we take great pride in our ability to give back. We thank those who have allowed us to work with them to lift them up, and we are excited to work with others in the future. We would love to share some of the work we have done to date in our community, and we hope this inspires you to take action in your community too. We try to donate and support others as much as we can so please feel free to reach out if you know of anyway we can help. We cannot guarantee that we will always be able to help out but we will do our best!
We Love Our Community, So We Give Back.
Helping Hands for Liam
We created the "Helping Hands" package to support Liam and his family. When people purchased this pack, 100% of the profits are donated to Liam and his family. Liam was unexpectedly diagnosed with Type-B acute lymphoblastic Leukemia. Liam and his family are at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. Liam is currently in the first stage of his journey called induction. The aim is to put the cancer into remission. Liam and his family are from Victoria, B.C., Canada but will be in Vancouver for many many months to come. This will be a very long journey for Liam. Due to COVID-19 he is not allowed any visitors. We would love to be over with Liam cheering him on however, this is not possible. The expenses that Liam and his family will have through this time will be a lot, which is why we are raising funds to support them and hopefully relieve some of the financial burden that they go through.
Liam however is more than his diagnosis, he is simply put, an awesome kid. Liam is a bright light in many lives, and a great friend to many. He is constantly smiling and joking around, playing basketball, or hanging out with friends and family. Liam has been a part of Katie's life since she was 17 years old. They first met when he was learning to lose his training wheels and shortly after that began doing respite for his family. Liam has down syndrome and that just makes him that much cooler. He is always ready to burst into song and sing Justin Bieber or Sam Smith at the top of his lungs, dance like no one is watching, crack a root beer or just chill out. Liam has a really special and unique bond with his sister Annalee. Annalee has been pumping Liam up and laying by his side this entire journey. Liam's family is so special. His mom and dad are really amazing, their entire family is incredibly strong and positive.
We thank everyone who has joined us to support this incredible family and Liam. We also want to thank Liam and his family for letting us share their story and their photos, with all of you.
Supporting the Ladies Night Golf Tournament
We were so happy to support the Highland's Ladies Night! We donated prizes for the Ladies to win! We are happy to be able to support these great golfers celebrate and enjoy their night. We were inspired by the Ladies in our community, and when we heard they were looking for donations, we wanted to help out. We think supporting sport in our community at this time is so important and we are so happy to have been apart of their night.
Plastic Free July 2020
We are so happy to be able to give back to this great organization. We donated 10% of all profits from the sale of the Plastic Free July bundle to Surf Rider Vancouver Island (VI). Surfrider VI is part of a greater international organization of volunteers. The Surfrider Foundation was started over 25 years ago in Malibu, California, and since then has grown to more than 15 countries worldwide.
Surfrider Vancouver Island started in 2009, and is formed of a collection of like-minded Vancouver Island coastal inhabitants. They say "No matter where we are originally from, we now call Vancouver Island home and are focusing on ways of protecting and preserving it into the future. It’s with this unbridled dedication of our volunteers that our chapter is able to exist and continues to flourish. We are surfers, paddlers, students, teachers, professionals, young and old. Together, we are working to keep Vancouver Island a special place." We think this is a fantastic. mission and something that is important to us too.
We had anticipated we would have enough bundles for all of July however we quickly sold out. So to keep the campaign going, will continued to donate 10% of sales from our Mystery Packs as well. We have raised over $400 from the sales of these packs which will donated to Surf Rider VI! To learn more about Surf Rider VI and what they do, check them out here.
Hearts for Health Care Heros
During COVID-19 this year, we felt the need to help out wherever we could. We saw the amazing hard work by essential workers and health care workers, and wanted to give back. We were also inspired by all the generous efforts by so many other individuals and companies and how they gave back to support those on the front lines. We wanted to give joy and thanks to those who were working so hard to keep us all safe and healthy. We wanted to make something that would remind health care workers how amazing they are, and how their work is so important. What better way to share our gratitude, than with hearts filled with appreciation! We sent over 100 Heart Packages to Nurses across North America to show our thanks.
Thank you to everyone who helped support this campaign, and helped us share the love with all these amazing health care hero's! We are so proud of the Nature Bee Community for their kindness and generosity. We were inspired again by our Nature Bee community, so we also Purchased 3 Nurse Boxes from The Village Restaurant (in Victoria BC) to support our busy nurses during COVID-19. We are so happy to have been able to bring a smile to someones face, and we feel so lucky that we were able to help out and do our part.
Helping out the Mustard Seed
We were so excited to partner with the Mustard Seed and donate to such an amazing cause. The Mustard Seed Street Church has been essential in fighting hunger and restoring faith to a large portion of people living in greater Victoria since 1975. Their operations are nearly 100 percent community funded; these include Vancouver Island’s largest Food Bank, a Family Center, Hospitality programs, and addictions recovery. The Mustard Seed Street Church positively impacts an average of 5,000 individuals per month, with the support of more than 50 volunteers everyday. This organization provided so much for those in our local community, and we thought it was our turn tp give back! With COVID-19 in it's beginning stages, and lot of people needing a bit more help, it was so great to be able to help an organization working extra hard during this time.
We were able to donate $1000 to Mustard Seed Victoria through the sales of our Mystery Packs! 20% of the sales from our Mystery packs went towards our goal of $1000! We would like to thank everyone who helped make this possible.
Sponsored Wraps to Celebrate the Women and Wealth Gala
We were so excited to be invited to attend the Woman and Wealth Gala! The Gala is hosted by The Canadian Women’s Foundation which is Canada’s public foundation for women and girls. They fund programs across Canada, prioritizing the communities where the need is greatest. These programs address four urgent issues: prevention of gender-based violence, women’s economic development, girls’ empowerment, and inclusive leadership. The Foundation works toward systemic change by bringing together community organizations across Canada to share knowledge and solutions.
To celebrate this amazing event, we sponsored 1500 Small custom wraps to the Gala (featured below). We had such a wonderful time, and were so thankful to be included in this event.
