Top 5 Questions: Nature Bee Beeswax Wraps

Have you heard of Beeswax Wraps but never knew what they were? Is this your first time trying them or hearing about them? Well, what are they? We're here to break it down for you.

We like to consider ourselves pretty familiar with the ins and outs of Beeswax Wraps and we are always here to answer your questions. We've put together the Top 5 questions we get asked about Nature Bee Beeswax Wraps and we have got the answers for you!

1. Are they reusable and for how long?

Yes! Our Nature Bee Beeswax Wraps are reusable for up to 300 uses with proper care. So depending on how often you’re reaching for them, it could be a 9-12 months! The best part is that when you feel like they need a refresh, you can purchase a Nature Bee Beeswax Block to give them a fresh coat. Alternatively, you can compost them or use them as a firestarter :)

2. How do you wash them?

Great question! For starters, be sure to use COLD water! If you use hot water, you can affect the quality of the beeswax wraps. If you have a smaller mess, you can take a damp Nature Bee Swedish Dishcloth to wipe them clean and lay your wraps to dry. If you’ve got a bit of a bigger mess, take some gentle soap (alcohol free) and cold water. Using a dish brush you can give them a bit of a scrub and rinse them off. Lay your wraps to dry and they’ll be ready to use again!

3. What can i use them for?

Nature Bee Beeswax Wraps are perfect for wrapping up most foods! Wrap up your lunch essentials such as sandwiches or make a snack pack for taking granola with you.

Store your produce in a beeswax wrap will allow it to breathe while keeping it fresh. If you’ve got any half cut fruits or veggies, seal them in a beeswax wrap to keep them fresh for longer. Keep in mind that more acidic fruits (such as pineapple) can’t be wrapped for too long or they can eat away at the wrap over time.

You can also use Nature Bee Beeswax Wraps to cover bowls or casserole dishes. Be sure that whatever you are wrapping has had the time to completely cool down. If the food inside is still hot/warm, the steam that builds up can impact the quality of the beeswax wraps.

We do not suggest wrapping raw meats or cooked meats directly in a beeswax wrap, putting them in a bowl to cover with a wrap allows you to avoid direct contamination.
